Katie Krupp

Lead PPN: General Surgery

Katie is a 4th year MD student pursuing a career in general surgery. She grew up outside of Boston and graduated from Bowdoin College with a BA in Biochemistry. Prior to starting medical school, Katie worked as a research assistant at the Ragon Institute of MGH, MIT and Harvard and volunteered with the Continuous Care Initiative at MGH. At Penn, in addition to her involvement with the Center for Surgical Health, Katie has volunteered with Stop the Bleed, the HUP Intensive Care Nursery, and the Penn COVID-19 Contact Tracing Team. She also serves as a Near Peer Mentor for surgery clerkship students and is the Mentorship Chair of the Agnew Surgical Society. She is pursuing a Certificate in Academic Surgery and has worked with Dr. Paige Porrett to characterize changes in the T cell repertoire during pregnancy to advance the care of parous transplant patients. In her free time, Katie enjoys hiking, dog walking, and spending time with friends and family.
