Lead PPN: Plastics/Hand Surgery
Michael is a 4th year MD/MPH student planning to pursue a career in anesthesiology or general surgery. He is originally from Ghana and graduated from Rutgers University - New Brunswick in 2017 with a BA in cell biology and neuroscience. Since starting medical school at Perelman School of Medicine, he has served as a coordinator for the student-run Cut Hypertension program in West Philadelphia as well as a mentor to undergraduate students interested in medicine as part of the Johnson Scholars Program. He has worked on global health research projects focused on care capacity and access to surgical, obstetric, anesthesia, and rehabilitation services in Madagascar and Botswana. In his free time, he likes to play soccer and basketball, and enjoys biking on the Schuylkill trail.
