Rucha is a 4th year medical student applying into general surgery. She is from Philadelphia, PA (go Birds!) and graduated from Princeton University with an A.B. in Neuroscience. Rucha is also pursuing a Masters in Law while in medical school and is using her legal background to research the interaction between law enforcement and ED, surgical care for the incarcerated, and establishing a trauma focused Medical-Legal Partnership. At Penn, she is the Diversity Chair for the Agnew Surgical Society, chief Anatomy TA, and served as the President of SAFE, Students Addressing the Firearm Epidemic. Outside of medicine, Rucha enjoys playing volleyball with her friends, joining a good pick-up soccer game and cooking all sorts of delicious cuisines.
