Brian Cortese

Lead PPN - Urology

Brian is a 4th year MD/MBA student pursuing a career in urology with interests in urologic oncology and genitourinary reconstruction. As a medical student, his research interests have focused on social determinants of health, urologic oncology, and the impact of alternative payment models on value-based care. In addition to his Lead PPN role at the Center for Surgical Health, Brian has been involved in various leadership roles including MS3 Class co-chair and Community Outreach Coordinator for University Community Clinic. Long-term he hopes to wed his clinical acumen with the business side of medicine to find new and innovative ways to deliver the highest value care to his patients. Currently taking a year out to pursue an MBA in the Health Care Management program at the Wharton School of Business, he is involved in Health Care Club, Digital Health Club, Consulting Club, and Nucleate - a biomedical technology accelerator program. He grew up in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, and loves all things Philly - sports, food, and the spelling of Schuylkill. He graduated summa cum laude from the Northeastern University with a B.S. in Biochemistry.
